Veronica DE JESUS! U ROCK MY SOCKSS!

Wowww. There is sooo much to say right nowww! Basically, my previous art teacher (art 12) Veronica de Jesus Rockss. This all started with my Study Abroud EAP application for studying in the UK next year. I know, exciting right. Anyway, I decided to ask Veronica for a letter of REC because I knew she knew me and she seemed friendly. More so, because some professors don't remember their students at alL!

So, today I went into her office, a little nervous. I hate asking for letters of REc, esp. from people you don't really know that well! Well, regardless, besides giving me the acceptance of writing the LOR she gave me a lot more.. a sense of urgency!
WoW I am sooooo JUICED right now!
After we got over logistics about the LOR, I asked her how to start a portfolio. I mean, I've always wanted one, but never knew how to go about it. There are 2 kinds of portfolios, one with a certain area of focus you would like to convey or the other as a more collective (and sometimes chronological) portfolio of what you have done. She said definitely have at least a few professional critiques before adding a piece to your portfolio. More so, I need to get started on a lot more pieces because there is a minimum of 15-20 in that portfolio, and they should be your best work.
Then, are talking turn to how one would do it with so little time and a she began speaking words of WISDOM and FERVOR!! whoaoaa.. she got hellla deep dudeee!
She told me that if I wanted to find a focus i had to start TODAY! yes, thats right TODAY! and to take a time out of my day (each day!) to research, study and explore the questions and topics that I have or are interested in. This however, reallly depends on the CURIOUSITY and URGENCY i have to accomplish these things. There is many things we want to do in our lifetime, however, if we dont have the urgency or curiosity, many times these things never happen. She wanted to me to start today, because i dont start now, I'd just live my life continuously putting this stuff back another day. But setting myself a routine will help me in the future when I may not have as much time as well.

This got me thinking about life in general, this advice doesn't only pertain to art. In this, I particularly am thinking about my Christian life. I've been putting back studying the Bible and exploring my Christian life for a real long time. Of course I have excuses, like i have no time, or that there's more fun things to do. But, if i don't immerse myself and it isn't my life that how am I supposed live out my life as a Christian, esp. since I claim to be one.

That's why... I should start TODAY! or this week! or maybe soon!

Yea. I know. I'm pathetic!:( but De Jesus does make a point and I feel that I somewhat already have a plan!

Every other day 1 hour devotions!
Then, the days that I don't do devotions I will be exploring my sense of creativity, be it writing (because writing and drawing is totally relatable... we got to get our thoughts out in writing! bc if not, we may forgot or not be able to explain to otherss!), drawing, painting, creating, etc.! Dude I am soo excited! I think this going to by my new years resolution, and for the first time, I'm really digging this idea! LOL SWEEETT i really can't wwait.!
